What you would actually be doing
The content work is the job. The rest supports it.
- Turn scripts into video. We hand you AI-drafted scripts — you bring them to life as short-form video in Canva and similar, for Instagram, LinkedIn and beyond.
- Help launch our first podcast. This is new ground for us, not an established show. You would help shape the format, record, edit, and get it out.
- Own the content calendar across Instagram and LinkedIn — planning it, not just posting to it.
- Build promo creatives and reels for Readathon Live, the Relationship Hackathon and the Social Sector Leaders meet-ups.
- Write. Event copy, follow-up emails, basic proposal support, and turning our founder’s LinkedIn writing into things that work on our own channels.
- Track what is working. Engagement and registrations — not just likes.
Also part of the role
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for our events.
- Research the market — what comparable retreats and workshops actually charge, so our pricing rests on real numbers.
- Coordinate printing end to end: journals, manuals, event materials.
- Make outreach calls to prospective participants, volunteers and partners.
Nice to have, genuinely optional
- The occasional field day — posters, flyers, in the neighbourhoods around us. If you have an active peer network this tends to be the easy part. It is a bonus, not the job.
- Prior podcast or interview experience, or blog writing. Useful. Not expected.
Who this is for
- A 2nd or 3rd year college student, any discipline — or an unschooler or homeschooler, 18 or over. We mean that genuinely: supporting alternative paths in learning and living is the core of what we do.
- Comfortable with video tools like Canva, and actually interested in growing into interviewing and podcasting. You do not need prior experience — we are building this from scratch and want someone excited to shape it.
- Comfortable making phone calls. A real part of this role, not incidental.
- In or near Chennai, with your own computer and internet.
Hours and money, plainly
Part-time and flexible, minimum fifteen hours a week.
The first three months are unpaid — a mutual trial, so both sides can see whether this fits. After that, a stipend if it is working. We would much rather this continued than ended at three months.
We are telling you this before you apply rather than after.
